About DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine
Texas's First CDC-Registered Animal Care Facility — compliant, regulated holding for pets arriving, transiting, or departing Dallas–Fort Worth International Airport.
Texas's First CDC-Registered Animal Care Facility
DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine is registered with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as an Animal Care Facility (ACF) — the first facility of its kind in Texas. Our role is regulatory, not recreational: we provide short-term, compliant holding for dogs moving through DFW under CDC import and quarantine requirements, working directly with the CDC, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), USDA, airlines, and IPATA-accredited relocation agents. This is not a general-public boarding kennel.
Any day care or overnight stays we offer are secondary and limited to pets already in transit through DFW. Our primary purpose is compliance — ensuring every dog entering the United States through our facility meets federal CDC, USDA, and CBP import requirements from landing through to cleared release.
What Is a CDC Animal Care Facility?
Dogs traveling to the U.S. from a country the CDC classifies as high-risk for dog rabies must be routed through a CDC-registered Animal Care Facility (ACF). These dogs are required to have a facility reservation in advance and must land at the specific airport where that ACF is located — they cannot arrive at any other port of entry.
The ACF receives the dog on arrival, verifies its documentation, provides a medical exam and rabies booster upon arrival, and clears it for release under 42 CFR § 71.51.
DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine is the first and only CDC-registered ACF in Texas — giving airlines, relocation agents, and pet owners a compliant local option at DFW instead of routing dogs through out-of-state facilities. Holding at our facility is strictly temporary and tied to a pet's arrival, transit, or departure through DFW.
What We Do at the ACF
Document Verification
Our team reviews all required CDC, USDA, and travel documents to ensure your dog's import paperwork is complete and compliant before arrival.
Bonded, Secure Ground Transportation
Your dog is collected from Terminal D or the cargo warehouse upon arrival and safely transported by the ACF to our facility for care.
Temporary Housing & Care
Your dog is provided with safe, climate-controlled housing, fresh water, comfortable accommodations, and attentive care while import processing is completed.
Veterinary Health Inspection
A USDA-accredited veterinarian performs a physical examination to confirm your dog appears healthy and meets U.S. entry requirements.
Rabies Booster Vaccination
As required by CDC regulations, your dog receives a rabies booster vaccination administered by our attending USDA-accredited veterinarian.
CDC Compliance Processing
We complete all required ACF procedures — document verification, veterinary records, and submission through the CDC documentation portal — to obtain final import approval.
Final Customs Clearance
Once all CDC and ACF requirements are satisfied, our dedicated customs broker submits all items required by U.S. Customs and Border Protection to clear your dog for release.
Reunite
Our goal is to streamline the process to reunite you with your dog as quickly as possible — safely, compliantly, and with minimal stress.
Experienced Ownership & Operational Expertise
The team behind DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine also owns and operates a separate USDA-certified, IPATA-accredited international pet relocation company serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and clients worldwide. While the two businesses operate independently, that shared leadership brings more than 15 years of hands-on international pet transportation experience to the design and operation of DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine.
DFW Pet Lounge & Quarantine was built from the ground up around the realities of international pet movement and federal import compliance — not adapted from a traditional boarding operation.
When an airline calls at 2 a.m. about a delayed animal shipment, or a relocation agent needs a pet collected from customs on short notice, our team understands exactly what needs to happen next. That operational confidence comes from years of coordinating live-animal transportation, airline handling, customs processes, regulatory documentation, and the unexpected challenges that come with moving pets around the world.
A Facility Built to Exceed Regulatory Standards
Our facility near DFW Airport was purpose-built and inspected to meet CDC Animal Care Facility requirements under federal dog import regulations, with operations also structured to meet applicable USDA requirements and Texas Health & Human Services standards and approvals.
